LouDevEdits – Manuscript Evaluations and Reports

It’s such a hard thing to hand your manuscript over to someone new, to let it be read by someone else for the first time. Rest assured, with me, it’s in good hands. I will always work with you, never against you, sharing ideas rather than simple critiques.

If I find issues with your work, I will follow it up with ways forward. My critiques will always be kind and helpful, but I will never hold back. If you are handing my your manuscript, I will return it in the best state I can get it.

You will recieve detailed annotations throughout your manuscript, detailing both my emotional reactions and my more critical ones, giving you a strong insight into both the reader and editor perspective. You’ll be able to see if twists landed, my first impressions of characters as they arrive on page, and moments when I might have been bored or confused.

You will also be able to see where I felt the prose was weaker, or clear annotations of edits needed. I do not do a thorough editing job, but I will do an overview, telling you what needs work, where your grammar/spelling/formatting etc is failing, or praising interesting prose.
